@Midnight, hosted by Chris Hardwick, for those of you who don't know or haven't heard of it, is a late night improv internet-themed panel show aired on Comedy Central. The show, which starts obviously at midnight, airs Monday through Thursdays and began on October 21, 2013. The show always has three guests who are comedians or some other Hollywood star. Chris Hardwick hosts/judges the series of internet meme improv games, where the guests or players have to on-the-fly come up with funny/cleaver comments about whatever daily internet meme Hardwick has presented. An example being, a viral picture showing an Asian girl from a third world country, holding a sign that reads, "#Failedcharities." It was then up to the guests/players to come up with fake charities that would fail, an example of one of the submissions was, "#saveakidpunchapuppy." This is a very funny show that I enjoy greatly, despite the late hours it airs on a school night; which, is also why I record it so I don't have to stay up that late every school night. If you have not seen this show yet, I strongly urge you to check it out.

Family Guy
Family Guy, created by Seth McFarlane is a comedic animated series that has been on the air for many years now. While the title suggests the father of the household Peter Griffin is the main character, his entire family are the main plot to the stories told in this show. While they portray the characters of the show to all be inherently stupid in one way or the other, they use these qualities they have given the characters to create the stupidly obnoxious, but hilarious humor throughout the show. From the simple act of making a character fart in an opera theatre, to making the theatre be a fart opera the sky is the limit as to how the show tries to make you laugh.
But Family Guy doesn't only try to make its audience laugh by using blatant stupidity, they also connect the episodes to things that are going on in the world right now. There are a number of episodes that have had to do with the war in Iraq, 911, even the story of Jesus. For the reason that it is an animated show the possibilities are endless as to what they can do to get that laugh out of their audience. I love the show, and hope it stays around for awhile, but I know that all things cannot last forever.

MK Asante
For the Co-Curricular day I attended the MK Asante seminar. Throughout the seminar he would read from his book Buck because it's about his life growing up on the Streets of Philly. How he was in and out of high schools and his struggles with education growing up. He was at a point in his life where there were no high schools that would admit him because of the trouble he had been in through previous schools.
From there he drifted away from it and was just another African American living in the hood, selling drugs, and being alone with no family because they were institutionalized, his mother in an insane asylum, and is brother in prison. But then his mother, asks him to go back to school. From there he talked about how he truly found his love for education by reading material he was actually interested in, things he could relate to about his life and his struggles. He then talked about his road to fame and fortune. If I took anything from his seminar it was that education doesn't have to be something where you dread going to class or reading the textbook, or learning material you don't have an interest in. It's something that applies to everyone, no matter where you are from or who you are, you have to be learning about something you can relate to and really have an interest in. So schools around the country shouldn't be pushing books that appealed to adults now, they should be pushing books that appeal to us students today, because without interest in the subject retention of the information will not be effective, and the drive to actually do said work will not be there.

1st Media Review
For my first media review, I chose to review a hit TV show on Comedy Central that I'm sure you all have heard of called, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. Based in New York, The Daily Show is a late night talk show hosted by none other than, Jon Stewart, which covers an array of ongoing global social and political activity. The Daily Show attracts its viewers by blatantly making fun of the blunders and preposterous claims/ideas made by right wing politicians, TV networks, reporters, and critics. Jon Stewart uses these types of blunders to not only explicitly make fun of the right wing advocates, but to educate the viewers on what is going on currently, and how the different political parties will want to deal with whatever the situation might be. Now Jon Stewart being a left wing advocate does make an influence on how you may feel about a certain party by pointing out the faults in their actions; however, Jon Stewart doesn't only critique the actions of the republicans. He also points out the blunders and preposterous ideas of the democratic party by making fun of them as well. So Jon is not biased about who he is making fun of on his show, but uses humor not only to give the audience a good laugh, but to help translate some of the political jargon that viewers don't understand. In all The Daily Show with Jon Stewart is a hilarious late night talk show that is worth it for anyone to sit down and watch at least once.

About Me!
Hello everyone, my name is David Forostiak. I'm currently 19 years old and have completed two semesters here at FCC. I am currently undecided on what I want my major to be, but I'm leaning in the direction of business and am taking this course to explore different areas to find what I would like to pursue as a profession. I graduated in 2013 from Urbana High School, and I live in Mount Airy.
I currently work at a restaurant in Mount Airy called New York J&P Pizza, where I work as the salad boy. As the salad boy I prepare the salads, soups, and desserts. I work four days a week, and have worked there a little over a year and a half. Some things I like to do for fun are skateboarding, snowboarding, hiking, and hanging out with my friends.
