For my first media review, I chose to review a hit TV show on Comedy Central that I'm sure you all have heard of called, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. Based in New York, The Daily Show is a late night talk show hosted by none other than, Jon Stewart, which covers an array of ongoing global social and political activity. The Daily Show attracts its viewers by blatantly making fun of the blunders and preposterous claims/ideas made by right wing politicians, TV networks, reporters, and critics. Jon Stewart uses these types of blunders to not only explicitly make fun of the right wing advocates, but to educate the viewers on what is going on currently, and how the different political parties will want to deal with whatever the situation might be. Now Jon Stewart being a left wing advocate does make an influence on how you may feel about a certain party by pointing out the faults in their actions; however, Jon Stewart doesn't only critique the actions of the republicans. He also points out the blunders and preposterous ideas of the democratic party by making fun of them as well. So Jon is not biased about who he is making fun of on his show, but uses humor not only to give the audience a good laugh, but to help translate some of the political jargon that viewers don't understand. In all The Daily Show with Jon Stewart is a hilarious late night talk show that is worth it for anyone to sit down and watch at least once.
